Who we are

At Salem, we're deeply committed to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and to the Bible as the divinely inspired, inerrant Word of God. We believe that Jesus gives forgiveness and eternal life, and that earthly life can have real meaning, joy, and purpose in Him. The greatest value of our fellowship together is our mutual agreement on God's truth. Our congregation is very excited about the life journey we're taking together, and we would love for you to join us!

Our history

Salem was started in 1965 as part of the Pacific Southwest District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.   113 people attended our first worship service.  Construction began on the site that we call home today in 1968.  Missional outreach to families is a hallmark of Salem, and in 1976 our preschool opened its doors.

Today our school features double classes in almost every grade, and our preschool is bursting at the seams.  We have nearly 500 members and offer traditional and contemporary services as well as a range of Bible study opportunities.

What to Expect

Traditional Worship Service - 8:00am

Traditional Worship at Salem is focused on the worship and praise of God. Traditional liturgy and stirring messages are Bible-centered and will challenge and encourage you as you deal with practical application of God's word in your daily living. The music for traditional worship includes classic hymns along with new songs and hymns of the faith. We participate in the Lord's Supper on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays of each month.  Those who attend this service typically wear their "Sunday best."

Contemporary Worship Service - 10:30am

Contemporary worship at Salem centers on the worship and adoration of Christ. God calls and we respond in worship. Music at the contemporary services is led by the Worship Team to create a moving experience of celebratory praise and meditative worship. Each week we hear a message from God's Word and learn how it pertains to us in our 21st century lives. We celebrate the Lord's Supper on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Sundays of each month.  Those who attend this service wear anything from jeans and a nice shirt to their "Sunday best."

Student Worship - 10:30am

SSM (Salem Student Ministry) Sunday morning worship services for ages 5-18 meet most Sundays.  Children in grades K-5 meet in room C2; 6th grade through High School meet in room C5.  Our students worship, pray, connect and grow together, giving them the opportunity to serve and lead one another.  Students who have completed our First Communion Class or similar class at another church are invited to participate in communion during services.
